Water and sunlight provide us with energy, we should repay by giving respect
Claber has its own hydroelectric power station at Pasiano producing 1,500,000 kWh/year, equivalent to 25% of the company's energy requirement. The station also serves as an environmental observatory and is equipped with a multimedia room to host studies and seminars on ways of saving water and energy in irrigation systems.
Solar panels installed at the Claber premises in Fiume Veneto are currently able to produce around 28,000 kWh/year, using natural sunlight all the year round. Claber plans to enlarge this system and create another for its Maniago facility.
The company also intends to build a natural gas and biofuel cogeneration plant that will be capable of producing the energy required by the Maniago plant with minimal environmental impact: the aim is to provide 92% of the heat required by the plant and meet 52% of the electrical power demand, with energy produced internally.
